Meet the Zoo BJJ Team
The team at Zoo BJJ brings a contagious energy to the gym. They make sure to interact with everyone and find each student’s path through training. The technical expertise and enthusiasm they bring to each class make them exceptional instructors. Take a look below to learn more about our leaders.
Jenn Greenwald
Business owner/Head instructor
In 2016, Jen began her journey into Jiu-Jitsu. Early on, she found that it was the sport for her. Her dedication, hard work, and love for the sport are evident in her jiu-jitsu and in her teaching style. Through the years, her tenacious drive has allowed her to travel and compete for many world titles. While only standing at 4 feet 10 inches tall, her unassuming height gave her the challenge to prove to the world that she was a force to be reckoned with. Despite her stature, she has a wealth of knowledge spanning from youth through adulthood. This is partly due to her background in education, which gives her an edge as a coach and mentor. While also enabling her to tailor classes to anyone. Over the last 10 years, she has earned a black belt in jiu-jitsu, become a professional MMA fighter, and is now the owner and head coach of Zoobjj. Most recently, she became a certified personal trainer through NASM.
Lauren
BJJ Instructor
Lauren Wolfe started Jiu Jitsu in November of 2017. And started MMA close to the same time. Her first MMAfight was just a year later in September of 2018. After winning an amateur 135lb belt she went pro in December of 2021. She received her black belt in jiu jitsu October of 2025. “My over goal in Jiu Jitsu is to let it develop me as a human. To grow emotionally, physically and technically.” Lauren is one of our lead instructors kids programs and offers private lessons for kids ages 4 and up in striking and jiu jitsu! Lauren has a contagious energy that the entire gym feels. If you ever have any questions or concerns regard Jiu Jitsu or MMA she’s the one to ask!
Derrick Paulson
BJJ Instructor
Derrick Paulson Don’t let his size fool you he can be a gentle giant and has easily become one of the favorite training partners in the gym for all. Paulson has been wrestling since he was 5, he also started training MMA when we was in high school as a way to let out his anger and anxiety through his teen years. He had his first MMA fight in December of 2018 and demolished his opponent. With such an extensive back ground in grappling and martial arts he didn’t officially start training BJJ until early 2018. Derrick flew through his white belt so quickly that he received his blue belt and still did not know how to tie it but what he lacks in knowledge of tradition he makes up for in technique. It’s not uncommon to find Derrick on his phone studying technique. In fact any spare second he has he dedicates to expanding his knowledge and understanding of Jiu Jitsu. Then he gladly shares with others. Zoo BJJ is so lucky to have him.
Conall Powers
Striking Coach
My name is Conall Powers and I am the head Striking/MMA coach at Missoula Kickboxing. I started combat sports at the age of five, beginning with wrestling and jiu-jitsu. I transitioned to MMA slowly but surely and by age 15 I had my first MMA bout with an adult. I started to take MMA more seriously in my early teens due to the immense amount of bullying that I endured in middle school. I felt as if MMA and fighting were my only outlets, and through my journey of this sport, I began to gain confidence and was actually starting to feel comfortable in my own skin. After a few injuries I started to focus on coaching. Most people fight on a daily basis without realizing it. Everyone has an internal fight that is always raging on even if nobody else sees it. My goal as a coach is to not only give you the tools and techniques to win a physical fight, but to also give you tools through hard work to win the mental fight as well. I want to give the community what this sport gave to me and that is confidence and an unbreakable work ethic that bleeds into all aspects of life.
